We Have Bobwhite Quail for 2008 !
Each year I hatch some Bobwhite quail and have more than enough for our needs. I got started because good Bobwhites were hard to find when I needed them for training our Hungarian Vizsla Pointers. We tried Italian quail, Coturnix quail - but nothing beats Bobwhites.
If you are located in Maine and need a few Bobwhite quail we can usually help. Its not our main business, so feel free to ask to buy only two or three.
We DO NOT ship Bobwhite Quail or quail eggs, you must pick them up.
We are located just south of Belfast, Maine
These are Wisconsin Jumbo Bobwhite quail and fly really well. We have adults, chicks and lots of in between ages available depending on the time of year. They are delicious eating and fun to have around just for the sing song Bob White noises they make.
These Bobwhites come to call back pens well and sing the traditional Bob Bob White song. Starting in May, I usually have some eggs for sale, fertility has been very good. For us owls, hawks and even house cats are the biggest problem when the quail are out of their cages.
7-8 Week old quail are good for training younger dogs in controlled conditions, they don't fly as far as older birds. At 9-16 weeks they are little game bird rocket ships. Bobwhites are considered mature at 16-20 weeks. 7 - 16 week olds come to call back pens very well. Mature bobwhite quail pairs don't recall as well.

You must have a copy of your Maine State Wildlife Propagation Permit with you when you pick up your birds! No Exceptions. In order to possess pheasants, quail, chukar or any wild gamebird, you need to have the permit. See the menu bar for instructions on how to get one, it's easy and only costs $13.50 per year.
